Sigurður Örn has joined PLAY Airlines as Director of Business Development. This is a new position within the company where Mr. Sigurður will oversee the development of his PLAY business across all divisions.
Sigurdur Orn holds an MBA degree from the Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh and has an extensive background in aviation. Sigurdur was previously CEO and Chairman of Bluebird Nordic and a member of the board of directors of Avion Express. He also played a key role in negotiating major acquisitions of Avia Solutions Group (AGS), including Avion Express, SmartLynx and Bluebird Nordic.
Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Sigurdur Ørn said: “I am very excited to be joining PLAY at this pivotal time. We have doubled our revenue in the last year while maintaining a competitive cost structure. “With the company’s impressive growth as evidenced by our recent efforts, PLAY is well-positioned for the future.” We hope to achieve even more success in the future. ”
PLAY’s CEO, Einar Óln Ólafsson, also expressed his excitement at the addition of Sigurdur Óln to the team, saying that his extensive experience and knowledge in the aviation industry is a valuable asset.
