Houston business holds business fair for kids

Metro Houston is home to hundreds of thousands of small businesses, many of whom had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. FOX 26 Business reporter Tom Zizka details the opportunity for the next generation to catch the Business bug.

houston – The Houston metro is home to hundreds of thousands of small businesses, many of whom had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. This spring, his long-established Three Brothers Bakery celebrates his 75th year of creating sweet treats for Houstonians. As part of that celebration, they are inviting young entrepreneurs to experience commercial success.

With decades of experience, Three Brothers has found delicious recipes that nourish longevity in our communities. As with anything worthwhile, success requires a lot of effort. Baker Janice Uecker likes the idea of instilling a work ethic at an early age. “When I was a kid, we had newspaper boys and they had their own little businesses.”

For years, Mr. Uecker has been a vocal advocate for small businesses, and with that in mind, the bakery’s 75th anniversary will feature young business ideas and an opportunity for attendees to put their plans into action. Includes a children’s business fair offering.

We are inviting young entrepreneurs to apply for this opportunity. You have to develop your brand, create your products and services, your marketing strategy, and set up shop at business fairs. Uecker believes the experience offers a simple and valuable lesson. “When you make money, you know, ‘I worked hard. I made these things and made money, and mom and dad didn’t give me the money.'”

It’s a unique way to give back to the community that keeps our doors open, and an opportunity to feed the imagination that might lead to your next big idea. This is also based on the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises. “People don’t realize it, but small businesses employ half of America,” Uecker said.

A business fair will be held at the bakery’s South Braeswood store on May 18 to mark the anniversary. Participants are from ages 6 to 14, and while parents can help set up, kids must do all the work.
