If you visited Rock the Riverfront on Saturday, you may have noticed a vendor market with a unique twist. Children from the age of 5 to her 17 years participated in the Children’s Entrepreneurship Market.
The event was hosted by Children’s Entrepreneur Market in collaboration with River City Company.

The goal is to enable young people to start their own businesses. Nearly 100 children took part in selling a variety of lovely handmade products.
“Everything you think adults would find at an adult craft fair, kids are going to get it,” said Amanda Mollenhour, child entrepreneur market manager in Nashville.

“My aunt gave me a hot sauce kit and I was bored, so I started making hot sauce and these people came,” said Maximus Presley of Scorching Sensations.
Maximus, Judah Borkan, Sam Ott, and Carter Guinn came together to start Scorching Sensations. The four of them chop their own chili peppers and blend spices to create flavors that have been praised on famous shows like Hot One.
“I think this is important because it teaches children how they really have to function as adults,” Judah Volkan said.
If you like all things spicy, we recommend the Mango Blaze Bottle.
We also visited Hunter Holbrook, who sells cereal necklaces, handmade beaded characters, and bird feeders.
“I’m excited to finally be able to run my own business and I’m excited to finally have money,” Holbrook said.
Hunter wants other kids to see how much fun it is to run a business and, of course, the satisfaction that comes from earning cash.
Next, we heard from Nico Avila, who sells collectibles such as baseball and Pokemon cards. His most valuable cards sell for hundreds of dollars.
He said he finds items by going to thrift stores and using an app on his phone to check the actual price.
“You can get something for $5 and resell it for a lot more,” Avila said.
And the last but not least of the entrepreneurs is Lily Parrish, who runs Lily’s Clips.
“I wanted to sell clips because I didn’t have my ears pierced when I was little, but now I do,” Parrish said.
She is very passionate about her work and enjoys sharing it with the community.
