Mid-Ohio ESC Business Advisory Council receives Workforce Development Award

MANSFIELD — MOESC’s Business Advisory Council received the Workforce Development Award at the Crawford Partnership State of the Vision Program held at The Hub at Crestline on March 14, 2024 .

Partnership Board Chair Cindy Wood presented the award to Amy Wood, MOESC Director of Grants and Special Projects, and Kevin D. Kimmel, MOESC Superintendent.

This prestigious recognition was awarded to Mid-Ohio ESC in recognition of the outstanding efforts of the Mid-Ohio ESC Business Advisory Committee in making the Teacher Boot Camp a success. Amy Wood, director of grants and special projects at Mid-Ohio ESC, played a key role in spearheading this effort.

“The Workforce Development Award recognizes Amy Wood’s hard work and effort in coordinating teacher boot camps in our tri-county service area,” said Mid-Ohio Superintendent Kevin Kimmel. It is important in providing the necessary link between education and business and providing staff with the tools to connect students to career paths.”

This summer, MOESC will host a Manufacturing and Technology Bootcamp for Teachers in June. The application deadline is April 26, 2024, with 15 spots available in each county. Middle and high school teachers, school counselors, and career coaches in all core content and special areas can apply using the link below. Teachers from all schools in Richland, Crawford and Morrow counties are eligible to apply.

Founded in 2006, the Crawford Partnership for Education and Economic Development promotes collaborative economic, community, and workforce development in Bucyrus, Galion, Crestline, New Washington, and throughout Crawford County, Ohio. It is a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to. This year, the county ranks in the top 3% nationally for economic development and is pursuing an aggressive, strategic and inclusive agenda to become the community of choice for businesses and residents.

Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center provides professional academic and support services to 13 school districts and more than 20,000 students in Crawford, Morrow and Richland counties. Client districts receive services from curriculum, gifted and special education consultants, speech therapists, psychologists, special education teachers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.
