Commitment to education and respect for talent are deeply rooted in Suzhou’s urban culture. By the end of 2023, Suzhou will boast a talent pool of 3.9 million, of which 420,000 are high-level talents. Suzhou has been named the “Most Attractive Chinese City in the Eyes of Foreign Experts” for 12 consecutive years and rated the “Most Talent-Attracting City in China” for four consecutive years. The Suzhou International Elite Entrepreneur Week, a hallmark of Suzhou’s talent recruitment activities, has been held 16 times, attracting more than 40,000 high-end talents from around the world and resulting in the creation of nearly 13,000 projects, the organizing committee said.

At the opening ceremony, Suzhou launched a series of talent-friendly city construction policies, focusing on each stage of induction, cultivation, motivation, utilization and support. The latest “1+8” talent policy aims to build a more attractive ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship. Top talent representatives were awarded the first round of “Suzhou Talent City Preferential Cards”, which provide integrated services such as free admission to garden attractions, green channels for medical care, and VIP access at airports and high-speed rail stations, meeting the “small but important” needs of talents.

During the event, certificates were awarded to leading innovative teams, and projects such as the Suzhou Academician Station Construction Project, the prizes for the World Finals of the 2024 “Win in Suzhou, Win the Future” International Entrepreneurial Venture Competition, and the unveiling of Suzhou Global Venture Incubation Center were also announced.
