Highly-anticipated prospects for FSU (continued)
-Defensive end Jalen Wiggins (UF commit)
Short summary: Florida State football fans have been frustrated watching top Tallahassee prospects transfer instead of staying in the area, but this is an opportunity for the school to keep Jalen Wiggins, a four-star defensive end out of Rickards High School in Tallahassee, who has committed to the arch rival Florida Gators but whose coaching staff is pushing hard.
-Linebacker Tavion Wallace
Short summary: The fan base has doubts about the Seminoles’ ability to land a linebacker, but Florida State has already landed four-star recruit Ethan Pritchard out of Seminole High School in Sanford, Fla. But they have their eye on four-star recruit Tavion Wallace out of Wayne County High School in Jessup, Ga., who has named the Seminoles his top school and is set to decide on July 2.
-Defensive back Gregory “Zay” Thomas
Short summary: Florida State defensive backs coach Pat Surtin Sr. has been a presence on the recruiting trail since arriving in Tallahassee. Surtin Sr., the former head football coach at American Heritage High School, improved the Seminoles’ chances of success with the signing of four-star defensive back Gregory Thomas. Surtin is scheduled to decide whether to commit to Florida State or Clemson on June 30.
-Defensive back Chamal Arnoux
Short summary: Surtin Sr. is once again working on recruiting a highly touted college prospect. The 6-foot-2 cornerback took an official visit to Auburn University and the Seminoles have been recruiting him for some time, receiving an offer on May 16, 2022. It’s time for Florida State to continue the “DBU” trademark.
