MSN reported that Vikas Tomar (51), a head constable at Chatari Police Station in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, performed CPR on a baby monkey that had fainted due to dehydration caused by heat stroke on May 24.
The video of Tomar bravely puffing up the monkey’s chest has been widely shared on social media and has garnered widespread praise.
“Due to excessive heat, monkey The baby fell from the tree and fainted. Several monkeys had gathered around it and it was very difficult to rescue the baby.”
The situation was tense and the large number of people making the monkeys anxious and complicating rescue efforts.
Recalling the incident, Tomar said, “We are trained to deal with emergencies. Human and monkey anatomy are very similar so I tried to resuscitate the monkey while my colleagues protected me from the excited group. We washed its chest for nearly 45 minutes by intermittently rubbing its chest and sloshing water into its mouth before the monkey was revived.”
Tomar’s dedication and skills played a crucial role in saving the young animal’s life. “The monkey comes to the police station every day and it makes me happy to see him playing,” he added.
Veterinarian Dr Hari Om Sharma said: The seriousness of the situation “The monkey suffered heat stroke and fainted due to dehydration. Help arrived quickly and he survived. After he regained consciousness he was given antibiotics,” the report said.
Constable Tomar’s swift and effective response was crucial in ensuring the baby monkey’s recovery, and social media users took to the comments section to praise his kindness.
As the video went viral, Tomar’s daughter Prachi Tomar also commented on the video, saying, “He is my father. Feeling very proud watching this.” Another user commented, “This officer is amazing.” A third user commented, “Amazing. He has earned a seat in heaven.”
