The new Third Entrepreneurs Fund will provide 2.2 billion euros in loans to small and medium-sized enterprises on fairly favorable terms, government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis said at a press conference on Thursday, ANA reported.
This is the first time that loan guarantees and interest subsidies have been combined.
In the case of the Loan Fund, financing costs for SMEs can be reduced by up to 70%, and through the Guarantee Fund, final interest rates as well as collateral requirements are significantly reduced, without any additional costs. The launch of the new Entrepreneurs’ Fund is another practical proof of the strategic importance that the Government attaches to supporting entrepreneurs, especially SMEs. The goal is to fill the investment gap created by the economic crisis, increase competitiveness and create new well-paid jobs for all citizens.
