30-year veteran positions to lead sustainable critical infrastructure with focus on clean energy, advanced manufacturing and innovation
Overland Park, Kansas, July 9, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Black & Veatch, a global leader in critical infrastructure, has hired James (Jim) Muth, a 30-year veteran in technology, infrastructure and government, as head of the firm’s newly formed Technology, Commercial and Industry (TCI) division.
In this role, Moose will be responsible for leading the growth, design and market strategy to support Black & Veatch’s clients, who rely heavily on the availability of new sources of cleaner, more resilient power and water, among other solutions the company provides.

Moose joins from Leidos Corporation, where he held a variety of senior management roles, most recently as Group President of the company’s Civil Engineering Group. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer of the Civil Engineering Group and held other roles leading the company’s Environmental and Infrastructure teams. During his time at Leidos, Moose led the acquisition and integration of several large organizations that significantly expanded the company’s global presence. He and his team also led Engineering News Record It was ranked in the top 25 in the areas of design, environmental and power distribution engineering.

Prior to joining Leidos, Mr. Muth served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and over six years in the U.S. Navy as part of the U.S. Naval Nuclear Program.
Mr. Muth holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science and Technology, Radiation Protection from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
