STAMFORD, Connecticut — Spectrum Enterprises, a Charter Communications company, today announced it has completed a fiber network expansion and technology upgrade. Wilderness Resort Wisconsin Dells, Wis. The initiative will enhance the resort’s guest experience by providing high-speed managed WiFi access throughout the 600-acre property and enhanced television options in the resort’s 1,174 accommodations, including hotel rooms, condominiums and cabins.
“We are focused on meeting and exceeding expectations, and today’s guests expect to be able to connect to their devices from anywhere in the resort, whether they’re in their room, at a restaurant or while spending time at the waterpark,” said Joe Eck, Chief Operating Officer at Wilderness Resorts. “Providing our guests with five-star WiFi service is important to us, and handing over management of that service to Spectrum Enterprise has allowed our in-house team to focus on improving other customer service experiences.”
Wilderness Resort has continued to grow and now features four indoor and four outdoor water parks, five restaurants, an award-winning golf course, and numerous nature trails. Due to the size of the property and terrain, guests were sometimes unable to access WiFi in certain areas. To improve overall connectivity, Spectrum Enterprise installed 1,400 WiFi access points, increasing the resort’s internet bandwidth with download speeds of up to 10 Gbps (gigabits per second). This ensures up to 10,000 Wilderness Resort guests and staff have fast, reliable WiFi whenever and wherever they need it. As part of their managed WiFi solution, Spectrum Enterprise manages each WiFi access point with 24/7 customer support, allowing resort employees to focus on other business priorities.

With no equipment to purchase, the video experience is delivered through a private, dedicated fiber connection, reducing maintenance costs for the resort.
