Donald Trump was found guilty on all charges. Here’s what you missed after the astonishing verdict

From CNN’s Kristina Zdanovich

The jury was expected to resume its verdict on Friday after Judge Juan Merchan told the court the jury would disband at 4:30 p.m.

Donald Trump said “thank you” to court officials and appeared more relaxed than he has been since jury selection.

After deliberating for nearly 12 hours over two days, the jury was informed they had reached a verdict and asked for 30 minutes to fill out some paperwork.

If you’re joining us for the first time, here’s what you missed:

Guilty: Former President Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records. The charges related to 11 invoices, 12 vouchers and 11 checks that made up Trump’s monthly repayments to Michael Cohen, who orchestrated the $130,000 payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels.
The acquittal was overruled: Trump’s lawyer, Todd Branche, filed a motion for acquittal despite the verdict, but the judge denied the motion.
Date of Judgment: Judge Marchan set the sentencing date for July 11th, just days before the Republican National Convention, which is scheduled to begin on July 15th.

Trump’s response: Trump stared straight ahead through the verdict and when his motion for acquittal was denied. Frowning, the former president grabbed his son Eric’s hand for a quick handshake before walking out of the courtroom. Trump’s face was red, and both father and son looked shaken.

Trump said: Outside the courtroom, Trump called the hush money trial against him a “disgrace” and a “rigged trial.”

“We did nothing wrong. I am a completely innocent man,” Trump said.

Trump, who is considered the Republican presidential nominee, said of the general election, “The real verdict will be made by the American people on November 5th.”

CNN’s Elise Hammond contributed to this post.
