CMA CGM Group has announced a strategic partnership with Pasqal to integrate advanced quantum computing technology into its operations.
The main objective of the partnership is to leverage the technology to make CMA CGM’s transportation and logistics operations more efficient, responsive and adaptable.
The partnership will reportedly focus on optimizing container management, including the loading of vessels. A Quantum Computing Center of Excellence will be established at CMA CGM’s innovation hub, TANGRAM, which will have access to quantum processors developed by Pascal.
To deepen the understanding of quantum computing within the group, CMA CGM employees will have access to an e-learning platform developed by Pasqal. In addition, TANGRAM and Pasqal will organize events such as use case workshops, technical presentations and master classes to foster innovation and collaboration between CMA CGM staff, partners, clients and suppliers.

“With Pasqal, we aim to unlock the full potential of quantum computing and deliver increased operational efficiencies to our customers.”

In May, the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) reached settlement agreements with three separate companies, including CMA CGM, to pay civil penalties totaling more than $2.3 million.
