CASE Construction Equipment has rolled out the second phase of its LEAD (Livelihoods and Entrepreneurship Awareness) project across various cities in India. The initiative aims to promote rural entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance by equipping rural youth with basic entrepreneurial skills, thus reducing urban migration and encouraging reverse migration.
Launched from Faridabad, the LEAD 2.0 initiative aims to scale up the success of the first phase by reaching out to youth across 1,500 villages in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Odisha, Bhubaneswar and Jharkhand. It is working on rural infrastructure development with a focus on road construction and irrigation. Training programmes are being conducted through mobile training centre vans, ensuring access to remote areas.
The first phase of the LEAD initiative, LEAD 1.0, had a significant impact across five states and one union territory, covering 38 districts and reaching 3,113 villages. An audience of 61,981 was reached and 36,381 participants actively participated in the presentations. This wide participation highlights the success of the project in empowering rural communities and underscores the need to continue and scale up the initiative.
By working with local partners and stakeholders, the company aims to address these issues and implement innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of each region.
